Welcome to the new website for Red Lion Design. Red Lion Design is a Sunshine Coast based graphic design studio which specialises in corporate branding and website design. Red Lion Design is owned and operated in Australia by freelance artist Scott Denholm. Since the age of 11 Scott has been developing his love for art and design, first starting out painting traditional landscapes and slowly progressing his abilities to the computer screen. Scotts first graphic design job was a traineeship with GT Print on the Sunshine Coast, at the age of 15, the GT boys taught him all there was to know about printing and pre press. By the time he got to university 3 years later he already had 3 years graphic design & pre press experience than his student peers which gave him a huge advantage while studying for a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Design and minor in marketing. At 19 Scott left GT Print to work and play in the US snowfields for several months and also visit relatives in Holland. It seems as though his dutch heritage has shone through in recent years. When he came back from his travells he started looking for some more graphic design work, by this time he had plenty of contacts and was offered several positions before deciding to start a freelance career. Trading under his name for 3 years Scott found himself a fulltime job developing websites (with his good friends, mentors, & business partner Image Magic Media) and doing a little bit of freelance on the side. In January 2006, at 22, Scott (that's me) decided he had enough experience and drive and he set some goals then started what is now known as Red Lion Design. Although Scott is turning just 23 this year don't let his age deture you, he has 7 years experience in the graphic design & printing & website development industry and atleast 3 more years than any of his university peers. After falling away from his first passion painting because of schooling / university / work / oveaseas travel / surfing and girls, Scott seems to have found some time to enjoy his oil painting on a regular basis now and is even available for painting lessons. Check out some of Scotts work at his personal gallery website www.scottdenholm.com. Not only that, he has put 2 of his passions together (painting/art and websites) and has created a website to showcase young and unknown artists.
